Veteran Shield Insurance was founded in 2011 by a group of retired military officers who saw a critical gap in the insurance industry. While commercial insurers claimed to support veterans, they fundamentally misunderstood the unique risks, challenges, and needs of those who served.

After watching fellow veterans struggle to get fair coverage — being denied for service-connected conditions, facing exorbitant rates after deployments, or simply being treated like numbers by claims departments — we decided to build something different.
